My family drove up into the beautiful (little) mountains outside of Boone to pick out a Christmas tree for my mom and sisters. It was a chilly fresh morning with gorgeous light breaking out over the trees.
We loaded up into a wagon and rode up to the top to select our tree. It was bumpy and cold and way too much fun.

Yesterday, I joined thousands of people around the world and walked around barefoot. So that kids don’t have to.
Why?
Kids all over the world don’t have shoes. They can’t afford them, can’t access them, there’s a variety of reasons. Shoes protect these kids from getting cuts and injuries, from transmitting hookworm and other foot diseases, and last but so important, many children are not allowed to go to school without shoes. Yesterday we went with our Lifegroup to the park. It was absolutely beautiful weather, warm and slightly breezy. Pizza, frisbee, balls, playground and a handful of little girlies running around non-stop. It was so much fun.
All kicked back and relaxed..
I love my life group.. everyone needs friends like them. We laugh a lot.. talk about anything and everything, and most of all, they inspire me to keep running the race. So on fire for Christ.

It rained during the night. And I woke up to a world covered in mist and raindrops. It was foggy and cool and you could feel the moisture in the air. And then I saw all these shimmering jewels in the grass. I ran over and there were all these little tiny spiderwebs covered in shining raindrops. It took my breath away.
I love rain. It’s refreshing. I love how the world smells after a rain. In fact, that is my favorite smell in the world. I love walking in the rain. I think it reminds me of God. Like little kisses falling down from heaven onto me. Little gems of beauty. The cleansing, the fresh air, the nourished earth – it all reminds me of what God does in my soul.

Both of my sisters are on a soccer team! And, my dad just happens to be the coach! They love it. Reminds me of the days way back when Josh and I were little tykes on a little team. =} I came along for practice to watch and grab some shots. My littlest sister wasn’t there because she was rehearsing for a talent show, but here’s a few of Sarah and my dad. I’m going to go to their tournament in May hopefully to get photos so I’ll have some of Rachelle then!
