afterdark.

i love doing pictures after dark. playing with light and long exposures. friday night we wandered around downtown mooresville with our cameras and {very heavy} tripods, capturing whatever we desired. john says the tripods are not heavy but i disagree. the air was cold and crisp and the sky looked like a storm was brewing. it was sorta adventurous. so here are my photos from the evening and i’m gonna try to convince john to post some of his.. (those awesome snowboarding pics he took back in january, i’m trying to convince him that you all still want to see them, too! so leave a comment asking him to post them if you don’t think it’s too late. haha.) -beth

Engagement – Daniel & Marilyn

Saturday morning we had the privilege of doing a sunrise engagement session of a super fun, cute couple.

I’ve been friends with Marilyn for awhile.. and the more I watch Daniel with her, I’m super impressed.

I’m sure they’re just made for each other.

I had so much fun taking their pictures! We laughed and talked and stood in the sunshine trying to warm up.. =}

Did I mention the morning light made my heart flutter?

It was really cold and so Daniel had this awesome idea of going to our coffee shop and doing some pictures there.. [and getting something warm to drink!]

I loved how fun and relaxed and in love they are..

After we all warmed up a bit they changed into some smashing outfits that highlighted their wedding colors!

I hope you guys love your photos and we cannot wait to capture your beautiful day in the spring! Happy planning!

Sneak Peaks!

Today I had two absolutely fabulous photo sessions. First a sunrise engagement session with a fun and gorgeous couple..

And then a super rad fashion session with my brother-in-law in the classy town of Charlotte..

Can’t wait to share the others with you.. so stay tuned! Have an fabulous rest of the weekend..!

The abandoned garage

Heres a photo a got yesterday while doing a photo session in downtown. I love this old building and have done some photos of the outside but never on the inside as in this photo. enjoy!

Streetlights glisten on the boulevard..

Can I hear the wind
Like a secret telling me I’ll live again
I need you

All your thoughts let them fall
Like a million raindrops
On this desolate ground I’m standing on
Every word from your lips
Like a father’s kiss
That all my life I’ve waited on
